Supervision & Protection of Minors
There are strict rules in Germany with regard to the safety of minors :-
Children & Juveniles under the age of 16 must leave the festival performance area at midnight & return to the campsite areas
Those over the age of 16 & under 18 can stay for longer as long as they are in the company of their legal guardian or chaperone.
The definition of a legal guardian is: Any Person, who is responsible for the custody of the child/juvenile, either as a single person or together with another person according to the directions of the German Civil Code (father, mother, custodian), or any other person older than 18 years, as long as he or she undertakes the task of custody (chaperone) and has a written agreement with the legal guardian.
What this means if you are under 18 – if you are accompanied by a chaperone (sister, brother, girlfriend boyfriend etc – where the legal guardianship has been transferred temporarily, your chaperone must be over 18 & have a signed agreement from your legal guardian naming your chaperone & agreeing to them being responsible for you, & nominating a time up to which you can stay at the event.
You can download an agreement form from the festival website www.summerjam.de - on the Festival Info page
You should fill in your details (as they appear on your passport) on the agreement
The Festival organiser reserve the right to eject those persons being unable to provide picture id with proof of age & if requested, a verifiable agreement of legal guardianship/chaperoneship
Please help to make the campsites safe. Due to increased tent robberies over the past years the festival promoter requests you leave valuables at home if at all possible – any valuables you have to bring with you please keep around your person. To avoid theft it is recommended that you've set up your tent, you introduce yourself to your neighbours & sort out to ‘keep an eye on each other’s stuff’.
A special campsite security team will be working in close cooperation with the police to deal with trespassers, unauthorised sellers, touts & general suspicious behaviour
As in previous years innumerable site security staff, policemen, the DLRG rescue team, St John’s Ambulance Paramedics & festival assistants are working with the festival promoters to make sure any problems you have are dealt with in a effective & trouble free manner.
Swimming is forbidden in the lake areas. There is a swimming pool adjacent to the family & quiet camping area. It is open from 0900hrs to 1900hrs from Thursday to Sunday
